At Stick & Stone Counselling Services, we believe that some of life's most meaningful lessons happen when we're having fun, exploring our creativity, and connecting with others.
We're excited to introduce The Wayfinder: A Mouse Guard RPG, a unique 13-session group counselling program designed to help teens build confidence, strengthen social skills, develop meaningful friendships, and discover their strengths — all through the excitement of collaborative storytelling and imaginative adventure!
Because sometimes, the greatest growth happens when we don't even realize we're learning.

Imagine your teen stepping into a world where they can become a brave adventurer, create their own character, embark on exciting missions, and work alongside others to overcome challenges.
Through the imaginative world of Mouse Guard, participants become part of a team of courageous mice navigating a world filled with challenges, discoveries, and opportunities for growth.
But the real adventure goes far beyond the game.
Every mission encourages teens to communicate, collaborate, solve problems, manage emotions, and navigate challenges in a supportive environment where they can practise important life skills.
And perhaps most importantly, it's a place where teens can feel welcomed, included, encouraged, and free to be themselves.
Whether your teen is naturally outgoing, a little shy, passionate about gaming, or still finding their place socially, The Wayfinder offers an opportunity to connect with others, explore their strengths, and experience the joy of belonging.
🌿 Building Real-Life Skills Through Adventure
Throughout this 13-session group counselling experience, participants will have opportunities to:
Build Confidence & Self-Esteem: Discover their unique strengths, celebrate accomplishments, and develop confidence in their abilities.
Develop Friendships & Social Connections: Connect with peers, practise building relationships, and experience the value of meaningful friendships.
Strengthen Communication & Social Skills: Practise expressing thoughts and feelings, listening to others, understanding different perspectives, and navigating social situations.
Develop Emotional Awareness & Regulation: Learn to recognize emotions, manage frustration, and respond to challenges in healthier, more constructive ways.
Build Resilience & Problem-Solving Skills: Navigate unexpected obstacles, practise flexible thinking, and discover that setbacks can become opportunities for growth.
Experience Teamwork & Collaboration: Work toward shared goals, support teammates, practise compromise, and celebrate collective achievements.
Explore Identity & Personal Strengths: Develop a greater understanding of themselves, their values, their abilities, and what makes them unique.
All of this happens through storytelling, creativity, imagination, laughter, and adventure!

For some teens, making friends comes naturally. For others, social situations can feel overwhelming, unfamiliar, or even discouraging.
We recognize that every young person is different. Some may find it difficult to initiate conversations, understand social cues, manage big emotions, or feel comfortable in group settings. Others may simply be looking for a welcoming space where they can connect with peers who share their interests.
The Wayfinder offers a creative, supportive approach to developing these skills without the pressure of traditional social situations.
Through shared adventures and collaborative experiences, teens can practise new skills, learn from one another, and build confidence at their own pace.
Our goal is not to change who your teen is.
It's to help them discover their strengths, feel more confident in themselves, and recognize that they have something valuable to contribute.
Because every young person deserves to feel that they belong.
🐭 Who Is The Wayfinder For?
The Wayfinder may be a wonderful fit for teens who:

No previous experience with role-playing games is necessary!
Whether your teen is an experienced adventurer or has never played a tabletop role-playing game before, everyone is welcome to discover the adventure.
