A Little Romance. A Little Spice. A Whole Lot of Self-Discovery.

An Eight-Week Therapeutic Book Club for Women

When was the last time you did something just for YOU?

Not as a wife, a mother, a partner, or the person everyone depends on. Just you.

As women, we spend so much of our lives caring for others, navigating relationships, managing responsibilities, and trying to meet everyone's needs. Somewhere along the way, it can become difficult to recognize our own.

Perhaps you've been married for years and miss the connection you once shared. Maybe you're navigating divorce, rediscovering yourself after a relationship, or exploring what intimacy and connection mean to you at this stage of life. Perhaps your desires have changed, your confidence has shifted, or you're simply longing for an opportunity to reconnect with yourself.

What if a really good romance novel could help open the door to conversations we've been needing to have?

Welcome to Between the Sheets, a unique therapeutic book club designed to bring women together through the enjoyment of a great book, meaningful conversations, laughter, and opportunities for personal growth.

More Than Just a Book Club

At Stick & Stone Counselling Services, we believe that meaningful conversations can happen in unexpected ways, including through the pages of a beautifully written novel.

Our first featured book is Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan, an emotionally powerful, intimate second-chance romance exploring marriage, grief, desire, vulnerability, healing, and the complexities of finding your way back to love.

But what makes Between the Sheets different from a traditional book club?

We're not simply reading a story. We're using the story to explore real life.

Sometimes, discussing the experiences of fictional characters feels easier than sharing our own. Through the relationships, challenges, emotions, and intimate moments woven throughout the novel, we'll explore topics that many women experience but don't always feel comfortable discussing openly.

The characters become a starting point for reflection, connection, and meaningful conversations about our own experiences, relationships, and personal growth.

What Will We Explore?

Throughout our eight weeks together, we'll explore meaningful themes, including:

  • Identity & Self-Discovery: Rediscovering who we are beyond our roles, relationships, and responsibilities.

  • Marriage & Relationships: Exploring emotional connection, relationship changes, separation, divorce, and the complexities of love.

  • Intimacy & Sexual Wellness: Creating space for conversations about desire, physical intimacy, changing needs, and reconnecting with ourselves and our partners.

  • Body Confidence & Self-Worth: Exploring self-image, confidence, personal acceptance, and feeling comfortable in our own skin.

  • Grief, Healing & Vulnerability: Understanding how loss, disappointment, and life experiences shape our relationships and emotional well-being.

  • Communication & Personal Needs: Learning to recognize, understand, and communicate what we need in our relationships and everyday lives.

  • Connection & Personal Growth: Making space for joy, friendship, self-reflection, and discovering what we want in the next chapter of our lives.

A Safe Space to Connect, Reflect & Grow

We understand that conversations about relationships, intimacy, sexuality, and personal experiences can feel vulnerable.

That's why Between the Sheets is thoughtfully designed to be welcoming, respectful, and supportive.

You never have to share your personal story to participate or benefit.

Through guided conversations about the characters and their experiences, women can explore meaningful topics while choosing how much they wish to share.

There is no pressure to disclose personal details, no expectation to have everything figured out, and no judgment about where you are in life.

Instead, you'll find a small group of women coming together to read, reflect, laugh, learn, and enjoy conversations that don't always happen in everyday life.

Whether you're happily married, feeling disconnected, navigating a separation, exploring changes in intimacy, or simply wanting to do something meaningful for yourself, you're welcome here.

Professionally Facilitated. Thoughtfully Designed.

Between the Sheets is facilitated by a Marriage & Family Therapist and a Registered Social Worker, bringing together professional therapeutic knowledge with the enjoyment and connection of a women's book club.

Through thoughtful discussion prompts, guided reflection, and supportive group conversations, our facilitators will help participants explore the emotional and relational themes within the novel.

Our goal is to create an experience that feels engaging, encouraging, and meaningful while supporting personal insight, emotional wellness, and connection.

It's a little romance, a little spice, and a wonderful opportunity to invest in yourself.
