Motherhood is a beautiful journey, but it can also be one of the most emotionally, mentally, and physically demanding seasons of life.
Between caring for children, managing relationships, balancing responsibilities, and meeting the needs of everyone around you, it can become easy to lose sight of your own needs.
Some days are filled with laughter, connection, and beautiful memories. Other days feel overwhelming, exhausting, and lonely. And sometimes, both can be true at once.
At Stick & Stone Counselling Services, we believe that mothers deserve to be cared for, encouraged, and supported, too.
That's why we created Nurture & Thrive, an in-person moms support group in Saskatoon designed to bring women together in a welcoming, compassionate, and understanding environment.
A place where you can set down some of what you've been carrying, connect with other mothers, and remember that your well-being matters, too.
You spend so much of your life nurturing others. This is a space where you can be nurtured.
A Place to Feel Seen, Heard & Understood
There is something incredibly powerful about sitting alongside other women who understand the joys and challenges of motherhood.
You don't have to explain why you're tired.
You don't have to pretend you have everything figured out.
And you certainly don't have to have all the answers.
Nurture & Thrive is a supportive space where mothers can come together to share experiences, build meaningful connections, and encourage one another through the many different seasons of parenting.
Whether you're adjusting to becoming a new mother, navigating the teenage years, raising children with additional needs, balancing work and family life, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, there is room for you here.
Motherhood looks different for every woman, and every journey deserves compassion and understanding.
What Can You Expect?
Our group is designed to offer a gentle balance of meaningful conversation, encouragement, and connection.
Together, we create opportunities to:
Connect with other moms: Build friendships and relationships with women who understand the everyday realities of motherhood.
Share experiences without judgment: Talk openly about the beautiful, difficult, messy, and meaningful parts of parenting.
Explore maternal mental health and well-being: Recognize the emotional demands of motherhood, including stress, anxiety, burnout, and feelings of isolation.
Rediscover yourself beyond motherhood: Reconnect with your own identity, needs, interests, and personal well-being.
Encourage and support one another: Find comfort in shared experiences, meaningful conversations, and the knowledge that you are not alone.
Make space for yourself: Enjoy a little time that is dedicated to you, with coffee, snacks, conversation, and connection.
There is no expectation to share more than you feel comfortable sharing. Whether you come ready to talk or simply want to listen and connect, you are welcome.

Why Connection Matters
Motherhood can sometimes feel surprisingly lonely, even when we're surrounded by people who need us.
Many mothers spend so much time caring for others that their own emotional needs gradually move to the background.
Over time, this can leave us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of how to make room for ourselves again.
Supportive relationships can remind us that we don't have to navigate every challenge on our own.
When mothers come together, they have opportunities to learn from one another, celebrate the little victories, share the difficult moments, and discover that many of their experiences are more common than they realized.
At Nurture & Thrive, we believe that caring for yourself is not separate from caring for your family.
Your emotional health matters. Your relationships matter. And you matter.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be experiencing mental health challenges to attend?
Not at all! Nurture & Thrive is for mothers who would benefit from connection, encouragement, and community. You don't need to be experiencing a particular challenge or have a mental health diagnosis to participate.
What if I'm nervous about attending a group?
That's completely understandable. Joining a new group can feel intimidating, especially when you don't know anyone. Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where you can settle in at your own pace. There is no pressure to share personal experiences before you're ready.
Is this group only for new moms?
No. Motherhood brings different joys and challenges at every stage. We welcome mothers navigating many different ages, family structures, and parenting experiences.
Is this individual counselling or group therapy?
Nurture & Thrive is designed as a supportive community group focused on connection, encouragement, and shared experiences. It is not a replacement for individual mental health counselling or treatment.
If you would benefit from additional support, our team at Stick & Stone Counselling Services can help you explore available counselling options.
How do I register?
Simply contact Stick & Stone Counselling Services at 306-954-7727. Our administrative team would be happy to provide information about upcoming group dates and registration.
A Little Reminder, From Our Hearts to Yours
You are allowed to need support, too.
You are allowed to feel grateful for motherhood and still find it difficult.
You are allowed to love your children deeply and still need time for yourself.
You don't have to carry everything alone, and you don't have to wait until you're overwhelmed to reach out.
At Nurture & Thrive, we hope you find more than a support group. We hope you find connection, encouragement, friendship, and a gentle reminder that you are worthy of the same love and care you give so freely to others.
Pain shared is pain divided. Joy shared is joy multiplied.
We would love to save you a seat.
