Val Esono
Addictions Counsellor (Intern)
My name is Val! Originally from Cameroon, I have called Canada home for over a decade. I am currently completing my Addictions & Community Development Diploma, and I feel deeply called to support individuals and families who have been impacted by addiction.
Through my own lived experience, I have seen first hand how deeply addiction can affect not only the individual, but the entire family system. These experiences have shaped my compassion and strengthened my desire to walk alongside others as they move toward healing. I believe that even in the most difficult seasons, change is possible, and that recovery can open the door to renewed purpose, strength, and hope.
I am especially passionate about supporting both individuals experiencing addiction and the loved ones who carry its impact. My hope is to create a space where people feel safe, understood, and never alone-where they can begin to find peace and take meaningful steps forward.
I am truly grateful to be part of the walk-in counselling team at Stick & Stone Counselling Services. It is an honour to be in a role where I can support others in finding hope, healing, and a path toward a brighter future.
